Texas Rangers Sign Pitcher

Bringing him back.

The Texas Rangers have signed pitcher Scott Engler to a minor-league contract.

Engler has spent the last six seasons in the Rangers' minor league system.

The twenty-six-year-old did not pitch this past season, but posted a solid 3.71 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts over 53.1 innings of work. He made 37 relief appearances and held a 3-0 record between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.

Engler is still looking to make his major league debut. He is a former 16th-round pick by the Rangers in the 2016 MLB Draft.

He'll add to the Rangers' organizational relief depth.
