MLB Rumors: Oakland A's Shopping All-Star Pitcher

The Oakland Athletics are currently in the middle of a major rebuild. As a result, they have been one of the most active teams in the trade market since last season, and now that trend might be set to continue. There are rumblings that Oakland is listening to offers for Paul Blackburn.

Blackburn is coming off of a career season with the A’s that saw him be named to his first All-Star Game. As a result, his trade value has increased due to his solid year, so Oakland should be looking to take advantage of this. Furthermore, with the majority of notable free-agent pitchers signed at this juncture, teams are becoming more desperate to find starters. As a result, the A’s could land a pretty decent return for him due to this.

Teams like the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Minnesota Twins are just some clubs that could make a push for Blackwood. Alas, let’s see if the A’s elect to trade him before the start of the regular season from here.
