MLB Rumors: Cincinnati Reds Interested in Mariners Outfielder

The Seattle Mariners are in win-now mode, so they are looking to beef up their current roster before the start of the regular season. Former top prospect Jarred Kelenic is reportedly available due to his struggles and Seattle’s strong outfield depth, and now his market is starting to heat up significantly. The rebuilding Cincinnati Reds are reportedly making a push to bring him in.

The Reds are exactly the kind of team that should be taking a chance on Kelenic. Although he has struggled mightily in the majors so far, playing for a team that is rebuilding could be exactly what helps him reach his full potential. Furthermore, with the Reds not having playoff aspirations, they can be patient with his development.

If Kelenic were to be traded to the Reds, he would have a chance to compete for an everyday role due to their weaker roster. As a result, we will need to wait and see if the Reds and Mariners can end up completing a trade before the start of the regular season from here.
