MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox Pitcher Garnering Interest

According to Chris Cotillo, the Boston Red Sox are receiving significant trade interest in right-handed pitcher Tanner Houck.

With the majority of the top pitcher free agents off the market, teams around the league are trying to improve their rotation through trades. As a result, it is not too surprising to hear that Houck is now receiving a lot of interest, but that does not guarantee that the Red Sox will in fact trade him. However, if they get a big enough offer, it certainly isn’t out of the question, either.

The Red Sox have several starters on their roster, so it is unclear if Houck will be in their rotation for the start of the season. In 32 games this past season with the Red Sox, he had a 5-4 record to go along with a 3.15 ERA. Overall, whether he is utilized as a reliever or starter, Houck could be a very good addition via trade. Let's see if Boston receives an offer big enough to move him from here.
