MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox Linked to A's Infielder

The Boston Red Sox are looking to add a bit more depth to their infield group before the start of the regular season. As a result, they are reportedly making a push to acquire Oakland A's infielder Tony Kemp.

Kemp is a player who could use a change of scenery, as he is a veteran playing on a tanking A's team. Therefore, it is likely that he would be excited over the prospect of playing for the Red Sox. He's coming off of a bit of a down year, however, as he had a .235 batting average in 147 games. He did have a .279 batting average in 2021, however.

Alas, we will need to wait and see if Boston's interest in Kemp leads to them acquiring him before the start of the season. On paper, there is a match here, but time will tell if it does in fact come to fruition.
