Milwaukee Brewers Sign Pitcher; Spent Last Four Seasons Pitching In Mexico

Returning to the MLB.

The Milwaukee Brewers have signed pitcher Pedro Fernandez to a minor-league contract.

Fernandez returns to the MLB after having pitched elsewhere since the 2018 season when he was with the Kansas City Royals.

The twenty-eight-year-old spent last season pitching in the independent Mexican League and also found success this offseason in the Dominican Winter League, catching the eye of the Brewers.

Fernandez has yet to make his major league debut, but for his minor-league career, he holds a 3.80 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 460 strikeouts over 509 innings of work. He's made 69 starts, 93 relief appearances and holds a 27-32 record.

It's an interesting low-risk signing by the Brewers. He'll start the season at Triple-A Nashville.
