Boston Red Sox Designate Starter For Assignment

With the addition of Corey Kluber, the move had to be made.

The Boston Red Sox have designated pitcher Connor Seabold for assignment.

This is the corresponding move for Corey Kluber, who signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Red Sox.

The twenty-six-year-old did not have a very warm welcome to the MLB, getting lit up for 23 earned runs over his first 18.1 innings of work this past season.

He fared much better in the minors, however, recording a solid 3.32 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 89 strikeouts across 86.2 innings. He made 19 starts and held a strong 8-2 record.

Seabold is a former third-round pick by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2017 MLB Draft.

He should draw some interest on the waiver wire.
