Baltimore Orioles Sign Pitcher

Joining the Baltimore Orioles.

The Orioles have signed pitcher Reed Garrett to a minor-league contract.

Garrett appeared in seven games last season with the Washington Nationals, recording an ugly 6.75 ERA with six strikeouts.

He spent the rest of the season in the upper minors, posting a strong 2.98 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts over 48.1 innings of work. He made 43 relief appearances, converted three saves and held a 3-3 record.

Garrett will provide the Orioles with some extra bullpen depth heading into spring training.

The thirty-year-old is a former 16th-round pick by the Texas Rangers in the 2014 MLB Draft.
