Atlanta Braves Sign Starting Pitcher

Joining the Atlanta Braves.

The Atlanta Braves have signed pitcher Nolan Martinez to a minor-league contract.

The former New York Yankees' prospect has battled injury and ineffectiveness throughout his whole minor-league career. He did not pitch during the 2022 season.

The twenty-four-year-old holds a 3.33 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts over 119 innings of work in the minors. He's made 26 starts, five relief appearances, converted one save and holds a 5-7 record. He has yet to pitch above Single-A.

Martinez is a former third-round draft pick by the Yankees in the 2016 MLB Draft.

We'll see if the Braves can revive his career from here. He certainly has potential.
