Top 3 Remaining Free Agent Starters (Not Named Carlos Rodon)

Carlos Rodon continues to dominate the talk of free agency—Pitcher Division. And now with the likes of Chris Bassitt and Ross Stripling off the market in the past 24 hours, there are plenty of teams who'll be scrapping for what's left.

Here's a look at the Top 3 remaining free agent starters (not named Carlos Rodon).

1. Nathan Eovaldi

The 32-year-old former All-Star missed some time with injuries this past season, and finished with a 3.87 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while maintaining his impeccable control, posting a 103:20 K/BB ratio.

He does want to return to the Boston Red Sox, but are they willing to go above and beyond their perceived market value, in a market that's gone haywire? In fact, according to a report from WEEI, "other teams are showing more interest in the free agent pitcher than the level currently displayed by the Red Sox."

He's said to have met with the San Diego Padres on Tuesday, and other teams are lurking as well.

2. Michael Wacha

Another Red Sox alumni of 2022, Wacha posted his lowest ERA in eight years with the Sox, while going 11-1 with a 1.12 WHIP. Sure, injuries have followed him around a bit for the last few years, but teams could do a lot worse than this veteran 31-year-old at the back end of their rotation.

3. Noah Syndergaard

He doesn't throw with the same velocity as he did pre-Tommy John surgery (though that still could possibly return), so the former top New York Mets hurler has reinvented himself as a "pitcher" rather than a hard "thrower." The $21M flyer that the Los Angeles Angels took on him last season, however, is not a salary figure that Thor can expect to match this time around.

The Red Sox are one of the teams that have checked in on him, along with the Chicago Cubs and the incumbent Philadelphia Phillies, where he finished the season.

Other names include Corey Kluber, Drew Smyly and Seth Lugo.
