Seattle Mariners Re-Sign Pitcher

After initially being let go by the Seattle Mariners, Blake Weiman has now inked a minor league pact with the team.

Weiman split this past season between Double-A and Triple-A, where he had a 3-1 record to go along with a 4.47 ERA in 34 games. However, he truly struggled in Triple-A, as his 7.27 ERA in 12 appearances effectively displays. He will be hoping to find more success in Triple-A this campaign because of it.

The Mariners bringing back Weiman provides them with a bit more pitching depth, so this is not too risky of a move. It will be intriguing to see if the 6-foot-3 lefty can take that next step and join the Mariners at some point during the year from here.
