Oakland A's Infielder Elects Free Agency

Vimael Machin has elected to become a free agent, thus ending his time with the Oakland A's. 

Machin was recently designated for assignment by Oakland. Instead of accepting an outright assignment, the 29-year-old has decided to hit the free-agent market and test his luck elsewhere.

Machin played in 73 games this past season with Oakland, where he had one home run, 13 RBIs, and a .220 batting average. Overall, it was not the greatest of seasons for the infielder, but now he will be looking to bounce back on a new team in 2023.
