New York Mets Sign 2 Players

The New York Mets have added to their depth, as they have signed Jose Peraza and Abraham Almonte to minor league contracts.

Peraza last played in the majors in 2021 with the Mets, where he had six home runs, 20 RBIs, and a .204 batting average. The 28-year-old infielder will give the Mets a depth player with plenty of experience, as he has played seven years in the bigs. With that, he offers versatility, as he can play shortstop, second base, and the outfield.

Almonte, on the other hand, appeared in 15 games with the Boston Red Sox this season. During them, he had one home run, two RBIs, and a .257 batting average. Like Peraza, he is another veteran, so he could be a decent call-up option for New York when injuries occur.
