New York Mets Bring Back Outfielder on Big Deal

Brandon Nimmo is staying with the New York Mets, as he has inked an eight-year, $162 million contract. The deal also comes with a no-movement clause.

Once Aaron Judge signed a new contract with the New York Yankees, Nimmo became the top free-agent outfielder, so interest in his services skyrocketed. Yet, the Mets are the lucky team to have him, and now the 29-year-old will continue to be a key part of their lineup.

Nimmo is coming off of a strong 2022 season that saw him have 16 home runs, 64 RBIs, and a .274 batting average. He also had a league-leading seven triples, so he will be aiming to put up strong seasons like this for the duration of his new deal.
