MLB Rumors: Phillies First Baseman Becoming Trade Candidate

According to Mike Axisa of CBS Sports, Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins is among this offseason's trade candidates.

Although Hoskins is coming off of a solid season, it is important to note that he will be a UFA after this upcoming season. As a result, if the Phillies are unwilling to sign the 30-year-old to a long-term deal, they should look to trade instead of losing him for nothing next winter.

Hoskins would certainly land the Phillies a nice return, too. In 156 games this past season, the six-year veteran had 30 home runs, 79 RBIs, and a .246 batting average. Playoff teams love that kind of power, so let's see if the Phillies take advantage of his high trade value from here.
