MLB Rumors: Chicago Cubs Making Big Push for Infielder

According to Bruce Levine, the Chicago Cubs are interested in signing Trey Mancini.

Mancini spent this past season split between the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros, where he had 18 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a .239 batting average. Overall, it was a bit of a down year for his standards, and he struggled after being dealt to Houston (.176 batting average in 51 games). Still, when looking at his past success and the first baseman market shrinking, it makes sense that the Cubs are considering signing him.

Mancini would be a solid addition to a Cubs team looking to get back into the playoff picture in 2023. Alas, we will have to wait and see what happens with the Florid native from here.
