Detroit Tigers Designate Pitcher For Assignment

An interesting arm heading to the waiver wire.

The Detroit Tigers have designated pitcher Angel De Jesus for assignment.

The transaction clears room on the 40-man roster for Zack Logue, who was claimed by the Tigers off waivers from the Oakland Athletics.

In the majors this past season, De Jesus posted an impressive 2.13 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and seven strikeouts across 12.2 innings of work. In the minors, he registered a 4.15 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 47.2 innings of work. In 44 relief appearances, he converted one save and held a 5-1 record.

There's a very good chance a team in need of some bullpen help puts in a claim for the twenty-five-year-old.
