Texas Rangers Pitcher Officially Accepts Qualifying Offer

Martin Perez is officially staying with the Texas Rangers, as he has accepted their one-year, $19.65 qualifying offer.

There were rumblings that Perez was expected to say yes to the Rangers' QO, and now that has officially come to fruition. With this move, the Rangers are keeping one of their top pitchers around for another year, so that's a big win for them. Meanwhile, Perez has landed the biggest payday of his career, so he of course is happy, too.

Now, Perez will need to prove to the Rangers that his All-Star season was not a fluke. In 32 games this season with Texas, he sported a 12-8 record to go along with a 2.89 ERA.
