St. Louis Cardinals & Cleveland Guardians Complete Trade

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired Jose Fermin from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for cash.

Fermin spent the entirety of this season with Triple-A Columbus. In 90 games, he had six home runs, 31 RBIs, and a .215 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he did have some struggles at the plate this campaign, so he will be hoping to put together a strong campaign in 2023 with his new club.

Fermin is a solid utility depth option for the Cardinals. The 23-year-old is capable of playing second base, shortstop, and third base, so he is a possible call-up option for them when injuries arise. Alas, at the end of the day, there's no risk in St. Louis taking a shot on him. Let's see how he performs for the team from here.
