New York Mets Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The New York Mets have claimed William Woods off of waivers from the Atlanta Braves.

Woods was designated for assignment earlier this week by the Braves, but now he is joining another NL East powerhouse with the Mets. He will be hoping that the change of scenery will result in more chances at the major league level from here.

Woods appeared in his first two MLB games this season with the Braves, where he pitched two scoreless innings. Overall, it was not a bad start at all for the righty's career, but now he will be aiming to continue to be successful in the majors when called upon as a Met. Alas, time will tell how the 23-year-old performs from here.
