MLB Rumors: Team Emerges As One Of "Most Serious Suitors" For Carlos Rodon

There are three A-list No. 1 aces on the free agent market this offseason, and it's becoming more apparent by the day that at least one of those three—Jacob deGrom, Justin Verlander and/or Carlos Rodon—are going to wind up with the big-spending Texas Rangers.

MLB Insider Jon Morosi reports today that the Rangers are indeed among "the most serious suitors" for Rodon.

We reported yesterday that there are three teams as likely destinations for Rodon, and certainly the Rangers are one of them. There have been plenty of reports that Rodon is the one they'll be making a "hard push" for.

The team destroyed all comers on the free agent market last season, spending over half a billion dollars to land two of the biggest names, Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, for their infield and their batting order.

Now, it's time for pitching help. There are some reports that the Rangers won't rest until they've added two legitimate starters to their rotation.

SNY's Andy Martino recently reported that the Mets viewed the Rangers as serious suitors for deGrom. Could Texas snag both? Don't put it past them after what they pulled off last winter.
