MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Destinations For Carlos Rodon

Carlos Rodon bet on himself in 2022. And he hit the jackpot, showing that he undoubtedly belongs in the top tier of starting pitchers available on the free agent market. He didn’t miss a start this season, making 31 of them for the San Francisco Giants, while posting a 2.88 ERA with 237 strikeouts.

New York Mets

The Mets just might need to find a replacement for Jacob deGrom, and aside from Justin Verlander, Rodon is the next best thing available. Steve Cohen has the money to spend, and with the possibility of losing three starters from their rotation in free agency, they’ll do everything they can to plug those holes.

Texas Rangers

Let’s face it: if there’s an A-List starting pitcher on the market this winter, the Texas Rangers are all-in. They spent over half a billion dollars last winter on beefing up the offense, and this year it's all about pitching. With the 4th-worst ERA in the AL this past season, the Rangers have been tied to every top-flight starter, and have said they want to add not one, but two starting pitchers to the rotation. They are expected to "make a hard push" for Rodon.

San Francisco Giants

The is the incumbent in the race, and certainly Oracle Park proved to be a comfortable place for Rodon to pitch, so if the Giants make a competitive offer, he could be inclined to re-sign.
