MLB Rumors: Guardians & A’s Emerging as Trade Candidates

One of the Cleveland Guardians' biggest goals this offseason is to improve at the catcher position. As a result, they are being heavily linked to Oakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy.

Murphy is one of the offseason's most notable trade candidates. After being shopped at the deadline, the A's opted to keep him, but things are now expected to change on that front. The A's are of course in a full-on rebuild, so it definitely makes sense for them to take advantage of Murphy's trade value while it is at its highest.

Murphy is coming off a strong 2022 season that saw him have 18 home runs, 66 RBIs, and a .250 batting average. It will be intriguing to see if the A's and Guardians can strike a deal from here.
