Los Angeles Angels Bring Back Catcher

Earlier this month, Chad Wallach elected to move on from the Los Angeles Angels and become a free agent. Now, the 31-year-old catcher has had a change of heart and has inked a minor league pact with the Angels.

Wallach played in 12 games for the Angels this season, where he had one home run, four RBIs, and a .143 batting average. Overall, it is fair to say that he struggled at the plate in the majors when called upon, but he will be aiming to change that in 2023. First, however, he will need to impress at Spring Training to earn a spot on their 40-man roster.

Overall, this is a low-risk move for the Angels and only helps strengthen their catching depth. It will be intriguing to see how Wallach performs for them from here.
