Giants Claim Catcher

The San Francisco Giants continue to make moves on the waiver wire.

The Giants have claimed catcher Dom Nunez off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.
Nunez spent the final month of this past season at the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate and will now join a new organization for the start of the 2023 season.

The twenty-seven-year-old appeared in just 14 games with the Rockies this past season, slashing an ugly .121/.244/.152, with two RBIs and three runs scored. Over his three-year career, Nunez has appeared in 111 games, all with the Rockies.

He'll compete for the backup catcher job during spring training, and will likely be a depth option for the Giants next season.
