Dodgers Decline Pitcher's 2023 Option

He's a free agent now.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have declined their $1.1 million club option on pitcher Jimmy Nelson for the 2023 season.
Nelson was fantastic when he pitched for the Dodgers in 2021, posting a 1.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts over 29 innings.

The thirty-three-year-old missed the entire 2022 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He's now a free agent and can sign wherever he wants.

Over seven career seasons, Nelson holds a 4.12 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 622 strikeouts over 662 innings of work.
