Red Sox Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

He was designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays earlier this week.

Now, the Boston Red Sox have claimed pitcher Easton McGee off waivers from the Rays.
McGee has pitched just three innings in the major leagues in his career, striking out one and allowing zero runs.

In the minors this season, McGee has been underwhelming, posting a 5.43 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and 82 strikeouts over 107.2 innings of work. In 27 appearances, he's made 22 starts and posted a 6-9 record.

The twenty-four-year-old is a former fourth-round pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2016 MLB Draft.
