Twins Recall Pitcher One Day After Optioning Him

The Minnesota Twins optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday to make room for the return of starter Tyler Mahle.

Now, Mahle is back on the injured list and the Twins are calling upon the services of Jovani Moran one day after optioning him.

Luckily, Moran never left, so he won't have to make the round trip to and from St. Paul.

Moran has been a solid option out of the bullpen for the Twins this year, posting a stellar 2.05 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts over 26 innings. He's also converted one save for the club.

Strangely, the twenty-five-year-old has been atrocious in the minors this season. Over 20 games, and 24 innings pitched, Moran has registered an ugly 6.00 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 43 strikeouts.

He'll return to his middle-inning relief role with the Twins.
