Texas Rangers Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The Texas Rangers may be out of the playoff race, but that doesn't mean they are against making additions to their roster. The Rangers have claimed Drew Strotman off waivers from the Minnesota Twins.

Strotman has yet to make his major league debut, but he will now be hoping to change that with the Rangers. The 25-year-old righty joined the Twins last season when he was traded there as a part of the Nelson Cruz trade. Since then, he has had trouble with Triple-A St. Paul. In 104.1 innings pitched over 51 appearances with the Triple-A squad, he has allowed 80 earned runs, which equates to a 7.68 ERA.

Although Strotman has struggled as of late, the Rangers must believe that he is capable of bouncing back. At worst, he will be a decent depth option for them the rest of the season, but we will need to see if he can be more than that from here.
