St. Louis Cardinals Designate Outfielder For Assignment

The St. Louis Cardinals are continuing to make roster moves, as outfielder Conner Capel has been designated for assignment.

Capel was recently called up to the Cardinals and has appeared in nine games for them this season. During them, it is fair to say that he has struggled at the plate, as he went 3-for-17, which equates to a .176 batting average. However, one of his hits was a two-run home run, so he did make a bit of an impact.

Given his removal from the team's 40-man roster, Capel will now be hitting the waiver wire. Teams looking for some outfield depth could consider taking a flyer on the 25-year-old, and this is especially true if they view him as having a lot of potential. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
