San Francisco Giants Call Up Outfielder

The San Francisco Giants have called up Austin Dean to their major league roster.

Dean just appeared in his first game as a Giant recently, where he went 1-for-4 at the plate. Yet, his time with the team now appears to be coming to a close, as the 28-year-old has been removed from their 40-man roster.

Due to this development, Dean will now be hitting the waiver wire. He certainly could get some interest from other clubs, and this is especially true if they need more outfield depth. It also doesn't hurt that he can play first base, so he offers several different options.

In 124 career games over five MLB seasons, Dean has 11 home runs, 42 RBIs, and a .225 batting average. Let's see what happens with him from here.
