Chicago White Sox Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Chicago White Sox have designated Anderson Severino for assignment.

With this development, Severino is now officially off the White Sox's 40-man roster and will be hitting the waiver wire. Teams looking for a bit more pitching depth could consider the prospect of claiming Severino. The 27-year-old appeared in his first six MLB games this season with the White Sox, where he had a 0-0 record and 6.14 ERA.

Due to his lack of MLB experience, Severino will not have the option to elect free agency if he clears waivers. Thus, the possibility of him sticking with the organization is there. We will have to wait and see what ends up happening with him from here.
