Rockies Promote Top Prospect

The Colorado Rockies are calling up their number two ranked prospect, and the 28th-ranked prospect in all of baseball.

The club announced on Wednesday that Ezequiel Tovar will be promoted from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday.
There were hints last week that the twenty-one-year-old could finish the season in the majors, and those seem to have been valid rumors.

Tovar has hit a phenomenal .319/.387/.540, with 14 home runs, 49 RBIs and 17 stolen bases across 71 games split between Double-A and Triple-A this season.

Tovar has an intriguing mix of power and speed, and with the home advantage of Coors Field, it will be very fun to see what the youngster can do.
