Reds Call Up Two Pitchers

The Cincinnati Reds are calling up two pitchers to the majors.

The Reds have recalled Dauri Moreta and Raynel Espinal from Triple-A Louisville.
Moreta has been an inconsistent option for the Reds all season long, posting a 5.61 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33 strikeouts across 33 innings of work in the majors. In the minors, he's been slightly better, holding a still poor 4.26 ERA over 26 appearances. The twenty-six-year-old holds a 2-4 record.

He'll likely be used in the middle innings moving forward.

The Reds have also recalled pitcher Raynel Espinal from Triple-A Louisville.

It was a very short stint in the minors for Espinal, who was sent down just on Wednesday but can come right back up with Justin Dunn hitting the injured list.

The thirty-year-old has made one appearance in the majors this season, striking out two over 2.1 innings of work.

In the minors this season, Espinal has pitched to a 5.63 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 123 strikeouts over 102 innings. In 25 appearances, he's made 21 starts and holds a 5-6 record.

He'll also likely pitch in the middle innings for the Reds.
