Reds Activate Starter Out for Four Months

He's finally back.

The Cincinnati Reds have activated Connor Overton from the 60-day injured list.
Overton has missed the last four months due to a stress fracture in his lower back. It's not yet clear what role the Reds will use him in, but he was a starter prior to getting injured, and he threw five innings in his latest rehab start so that might be indicative of how they'll use him.

The twenty-nine-year-old has registered a sparkling 1.82 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, and 19 strikeouts over 24.2 innings pitched this year. He started four games before going down with the injury.

Overton has posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 31 strikeouts over 26 innings during his minor league rehab assignment.

He'll have a good chance to make the Reds' starting rotation next season.
