Ozzie Albies Suffers New Injury One Game After Return

Well, that return didn't last long. Just one full game after returning from a three-month absence, Atlanta Braves All-Star second baseman Ozzie Albies has gone down again, this time with a broken finger.

The good news is he won't need surgery on the fractured pinky. But the bad news is that he'll be in a cast for three weeks, wiping out the rest of the regular season for him. But a return for the playoffs can't completely be ruled out as of yet.

The injured occurred on a slide into second base in the 4th inning of Saturday night's game.

His teammates are lamenting the loss of Albies yet again.

“It’s just really sad that Ozzie hurt himself again," said his close friend Ronald Acuna Jr. "We need him...He means a lot. He’s a leader on this team. We need himand I’m really sad for what happened to him.”

Albies had just returned on Thursday after missing three months with a fractured foot. Now, his regular season is over.
