New York Mets Call Up 2 Players
The New York Mets have called up Alex Claudio and Yoan Lopez to their major league roster.
Claudio's contract has been selected, so he is now a part of the Mets' 40-man roster and is set to make his debut for the team. Assuming he gets into action, this will be the ninth straight season that he has made an appearance in the majors. He spent this past season with the Los Angeles Angels, where he went 1-2 and had a 5.51 ERA.
Lopez is set to be the team's 29th man for their doubleheader on Wednesday, so there's a good chance that we will see him sent back down to the minors after it. Still, he will be aiming to impress during this opportunity, as it could be what gets him more looks in the majors from here. In eight games on the season with the Mets, he has a 1-0 record and 5.73 ERA.
