Marlins Option 10th-Ranked Prospect

His first taste of major league action did not go so well.

The Miami Marlins have optioned outfielder Peyton Burdick to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Burdick has been sent back to the minors to make room on the roster for the return of outfielder Avisail Garcia from the injured list.

The twenty-five-year-old rookie hit just .171/.261/.293, with two home runs, four RBIs and one stolen base over 26 games.
