Cubs Designate Outfielder for Assignment

The Chicago Cubs have designated outfielder Michael Hermosillo for assignment.
The twenty-seven-year-old had appeared in just 31 games with the Cubs this season, slashing a poor .115/.250/.148, with zero home runs, four RBIs, one stolen base and seven runs scored.

In just 34 at-bats in the minors this season, Hermosillo has hit for a strong .324 batting average, a .400 on-base percentage, with one home run, three RBIs, three stolen bases and nine runs scored.

He'll hit the waiver wire and wait to see if another team claims his services. Hermosillo is a former 28th-round pick by the Los Angeles Angels in the 2013 MLB Draft.
