Chicago White Sox Provide Update On Tony La Russa

The Chicago White Sox have provided an update on manager Tony La Russa. After having more testing done, doctors have directed him to not return as the club's manager for the rest of this season. As a result, Miquel Cairo will continue to serve as the club's manager for the remainder of this campaign.

La Russa has not been with the team since August 31st, 2022 after he had tests done on his heart. Now, with this development, it's clear that it's best for the Tampa native to stay away from the field.

When it comes to 2023, things are still up in the air for La Russa. If this health condition ends up marking the end of his managerial career, it's been a truly wonderful one. In 1,316 career games as a manager, he has a 676-640 record to go along with three World Series championships.
