Chicago Cubs Pitcher Clears Waivers

When the Chicago Cubs designated Kervin Castro for assignment, there was a possibility that he would be claimed off waivers. Yet, the 23-year-old has since cleared them and now has been outrighted to Triple-A Iowa.

With Castro being so young, there was a distinct possibility that he would find a new home. Yet, no teams ended up taking a flyer on him, and now he will be staying with the Cubs as a depth piece for their pitching staff.

Castro began this season with the San Francisco Giants, before being claimed off waivers by the Cubs. In 10 appearances between the two clubs on the year, he has a 1-2 record and 4.91 ERA.
