Chicago Cubs Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Chicago Cubs have made a change to their 40-man roster, as Luke Farrell has been designated for assignment.

Farrell was recently called up to the Cubs, so this development is certainly disappointing for the 31-year-old pitcher. During his four appearances as a Cub this campaign, he has a 0-0 record to go along with a 4.09 ERA. Yet, given the fact that he has been DFA'd, there's a very good chance that his time with the Cubs is officially coming to a close.

Farrell will now be placed on waivers, and teams around the league will have the opportunity to claim him. It will be intriguing to see what happens from here regarding the right-hander.
