Braves Activate Utility Player and Pitcher Claimed Off Waivers This Week

The Atlanta Braves have activated utility player Orlando Arcia from the 10-day injured list.

Arcia returns after missing the last three weeks due to a left hamstring strain. He'll take over his super-utility role down the stretch.

Over 56 games with the Braves this season, the twenty-eight-year-old has slashed .243/.321/.405, with seven home runs, 26 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

The Braves claimed Chavez off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday.

Chavez holds a mediocre 3.62 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 60 strikeouts over 54 innings this season. The thirty-nine-year-old has a 2-1 record and has appeared in 45 games, split between the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels and the Atlanta Braves.
