Boston Red Sox Designate Outfielder For Assignment

The Boston Red Sox have designated Jaylin Davis for assignment.

Davis has appeared in 12 games for the Red Sox this campaign, he has zero home runs, two RBIs, and a .333 batting average. Overall, when called upon, he has done fairly well at the plate in the majors this season, but it wasn't enough for him to stick around on Boston's 40-man roster.

Davis will now be hitting the waiver wire, where the rest of the league will have the chance to claim him if they wish to. Given his past connection with the San Francisco Giants, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of them taking a flyer on him.

In 38 career MLB games, Davis has two home runs, six RBIs, and a .207 batting average.
