Yankees Option 15th-Ranked Prospect

It was a brief stay in the majors for the twenty-four year old.

The New York Yankees have optioned rookie outfielder Estevan Florial to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Florial went just 1-for-9 in his stay with the Yankees. He tacked on one RBI and one stolen base in three games.

Florial will head back down to the minors where he's put together fantastic numbers, slashing .286/.368/.858, with 62 runs scored, 14 home runs, 39 RBIs, and an eye-popping 32 stolen bases across 89 games this season.

The reason for the demotion is because slugger Giancarlo Stanton is expected to come off the injured list, and rejoin the Yankees' roster, on Thursday against the Oakland Athletics.

It shouldn't be too long before we see the speedy young prospect up in the majors again.
