White Sox Activate Pitcher From Injured List

The Chicago White Sox have activated pitcher Vince Velasquez from the 15-day injured list.

The thirty-year-old pitcher has been out since early June due to a blister on his right index finger.

He will return to the White Sox's pitching mix in a versatile multi-inning relief role for the team's series opener against the Houston Astros on Monday.

Velasquez has posted a 5.21 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts across 46 innings this season. He's also started eight games this season, so there's definitely versatility there.

Velasquez has never had a season where he's posted an ERA under 4.12.
