Twins Recall Starter for Tuesday's Game; Former Manager John Gibbons Shows Him Support on Twitter

The Minnesota Twins are recalling starter Aaron Sanchez to start against the Houston Astros on Tuesday.
Sanchez pitched well in a spot start earlier this month, throwing five innings of two-run baseball with eight strikeouts against the Detroit Tigers. He'll get a much tougher test this time out with the Houston Astros, however.

Sanchez has really not had a good season thus far, posting an ERA of 7.68 with 24 strikeouts across 36 innings this season.

Aaron Sanchez has had a really tough career up to this point. He started off his MLB career brilliantly, posting a 2.86 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 249 strikeouts across his first 317 innings of work with the Toronto Blue Jays. Not to mention a 24-10 record.

Sanchez was also the ERA leader in the 2016 season, posting an ERA of 3.00. However, blisters began to become a huge problem for him and really interrupted his career, along with other injuries.

Even former Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons showed some love to Aaron Sanchez on twitter on Tuesday.
