Rays Activate Pitcher and Immediately Option Him

The Tampa Bay Rays activated him and immediately sent him down to the minors. 

The Rays have activated pitcher Josh Fleming from the 15-day injured list and sent him down to Triple-A Durham.

Fleming is still working his way back from a right oblique strain, an issue that has sidelined him since July. The Rays apparently feel like he still needs more rehab time, so they're sending him down to the minors to continue his rehab assignment.

The twenty-six-year-old has had a very underwhelming season thus far, posting an ugly 6.84 ERA, 1.98 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts over 26 innings. Of the eight games Fleming has appeared in, he's started two of them.
