Rangers Release Pitcher

He was kicked off the 40-man roster a few months ago and now he's officially been cut from the organization.

The Texas Rangers have released pitcher Spencer Patton.

Patton pitched just seven innings with the Rangers this season, posting a decent 3.86 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and five strikeouts.

However, in the minors, it was a different story. At Triple-A Round Rock, Patton threw an ugly 6.44 ERA and 1.71 WHIP in 29 innings.

Over his five-year major league career, the thirty-four-year-old has posted a 5.11 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 111 strikeouts across 104 innings.

Patton will look to find a new home elsewhere.
