Pittsburgh Pirates Designate First Baseman For Assignment

The Pittsburgh Pirates have designated Yoshi Tsutsugo for assignment.

Tsutsugo has had a rough year in 2022, so this is something that fans may have been able to predict. In 50 games this campaign, he has two home runs, 19 RBIs, and a very low .171 batting average. The Pirates certainly expected more from Tsutsugo this campaign, and this is especially true when noting that he sported a .268 batting average in 43 contests with them last season.

Alas, the Pirates will have until the end of the week to place Tsutsugo on waivers. It will be interesting to see if another club decides to take a chance on the first baseman.
